, SYDENHAM CLUB. Th« fifteenth annual meeting of the Sydenham Cricket Club was. held last night, Mr <J. Mermua-n presiding. The committee reported that the financial position was unsatisfactory, owing to *o many members failing to recognise their responsibilities. Also, in spite of the fact that the cost of everything connected with t/ia game had increased, members' subsoriphona had not yet been raised. The club’s *ust trade team came second in the competitions, its position being duo to the splendid lend given by the skipper, AV. 1?.. Putnek, who, although not approaching his grea-t form of tho previous season, was tlill a- bug way .above tiny of his club mr.les in the averages. Tho Second Grade team won its competition in very good style H-t star performer was J. Martin. The A team’s record was not good, but it was continua-Uv handicapped by many c-f the players failing to attend games regularly. Of those who did play regularly, Coomber wa.s again very suecessiU.. Tho Third Grade team was also very unfortunate in its members' irree-uiar-ity of attendance. Their best all-round periOnner was L. Columbus.
