M. 1 enizelos, in an interview-, replying to critics, said that the war was forced Greece against her will. The plan of operations will be conducted by Marshal Foch and FieldMarshal Sir 11. H. Wilson. Greece has no intention of occupying or retaining Anatolia. The war was directed against Turkey and not against Islam. According to the ‘-'Petit Journal” Greece's initial success, coupled with the Nationalist defeat at Ismkl, decided Musiapha Kemal to abandon the attack on Constantinople. Tho “Echo do Paris” says that the last Turkish Note amounts to a. refusal to sign the treaty. Tho Note demands that Turkey bo granted a consultative voice in the Control of tho Dardanelles, and a revision of the treaty's financial clauses bv a commistion of experts. CREEK FORCE LANDS. The Constantinople correspondent of the “Evening News” reports that und,er cover of British warships a Greek loyce disembarked at Panderaia to participate in the operations in tho Dardanelles area. Many weary and ragged Turks of all ages are surrendering at Smyrna. I.ney include a largo proportion of officers. Nationalists in Thrace told tho Greeks that they intend to fight thenutmost, and they threaten to burn Adnanoplo if they are hard pressed.
