(Troxi Odr Correspondents.'] SPRINGS. The reentry raveling of the Springs County Council was held at Spriugston on Thursday; present—Massif J. XV. Kimo (ohairnian), G. Wolfs, A. Thompson. J. H. Williams, E. Yarr and J. Stalker. It was decided to inspect Mr Macartney’s metal crushing plant before deciding upon a purchase, and to arrange, if possible, for a trial at Lincoln pit. The District Engineer of Baildays wrote that the Department was about to make extensive alterations at Hollcstcn Junction, and that part of a road had been taken for railway purposes. A rise of 8d per bag in the price of oera-ont was notified. He contended that the accident was due to a rut and faulty culvert. Ho had lost £l2 12s in wages, being off pork for three weeks, and had incurred doctor’s expenses amounting to £1 ss. It w'os decided to obtain a legal opinion as to the council’s liability. It was agreed that, in future no road drams would bo cleaned until occupiers cut back their gorso fences, as overgrown had been holding up work, and it was further agreed to send forward this matter as a remit for the Counties Conference. LEESTON. The Ellesmere Ploughing Match Committee met at Leeston on Friday afternoon. It was decided to hold the match during July and to give a special prise for the beat ploughing done by a returned soldier. The following classes were agreed upon;— Class A, open d.f.; class B, district d.f.; class C, open d.f. or 3 f, youths under eighteen: class D, district 0 f.; class E. open 3 f,; class P, opeu d. or 3 f.. for competitors who hftvu not won a senior prize in any match. The Prizes wore fixed at £-l t £3, i2, and il. Tho ground committee later inspected a paddock offered by Mr D. Lochhcad.
