QUESTION OF ARBITRATOR. [From Our Co»bkßl’o:vdent.] WELLINGTON, June'2B. The Coal Miners’ Association has accepted Mi- Massey’s proposal that Mr Fraser act as arbitrator in the coal mines dispute. Mr Arbnckle has replied to Mr Massey that he cannot accent Mr Iraser. He has no doubts about Mr Fraser’s impartiality, hut lie wants someone who understands the conditions in the coal mines, and suggests Mr P. Hally. Mr Arhuokle states that he has iu-eri instructed not to'agree to any other basis of settlement than that suggested by Mr .Massey to the owners, and rcjcctefl by them.
