METROPOLITAN HOTEL UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. Tho new proprietor of the Metropolitan Private Hotel, 'in Manchester Street, near the Christchurch railway station, is Mr F W. Cochrane, and, judging by his successful management of Freeman’s Cafe, tho change of proprietorship will he good for tho travelling public, as well as for those folks who have to find a homo away from home. Those include young men and women whose ambition and progress load them from other centres to° remunerative employment in Christchurch; married couples who for any reason find hotel life preferable to private residential life. These folks, and all others who appreciate central ’ position, wholesome food in good variety clean and airy bedrooms and sittingrooms, will find comfort and satisfaction at tho Mr Cochrane is making a capital start, freshening up in all directions and catering for a good class of trade. Whatever the Metropolitan may have been in the past, Air Cochrane is determined that it shall occupy a fine position in the list of New Zealand private hotels. The Metropolitan is very handy to the railway station, so that* “ casuals ” are conveniently accommodated. And permanent boarders will End a comfortable home, where their personal comfort will be studied. X 4
