As the result of a collision ’between a motor-car and a motor-bicycle at Chaney’s Corner last night, a man named Samuel M’Millan, who was riding tho bicycle, sustained a fracture of the left leg. and had to he taken to the Christ, church Hospital. William Nohar, aged fifty-eight, married, a lavatory attendant at the Dunedin Railway Station, was knocked down by an engine on Saturday afternoon and died in tho hospital lash evening. FALL FROM A WHARF. [Per Press Association.] M ELLINGTON, Juno 7. William Fitzgibbon, a fireman, fell from the Glasgow Wharf early oix Saturday night, and some time later was found crushed between his ship, tho Canadian Importer, and the wharf. He is holieved to have been king in that position for about three'hours. When admitted to the hospital at about 11.30 p.m. Fitzgibbon was in a collapsed condition, and suffering from shock. There was a big bruiso about the base of the spine, and it was found that he had sustained a fracture of the pelvis. On inquiry last night, a reporter was informed that tho injured man was then out of danger, and doing as well a 3 could bo expected. AN OPEN VERDICT. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON; June 7. The inquiry into the death of Willis Combs, who was killed by a motor lorry, concluded to-day. The Coroner returned an open verdict..
