COMING RUCPY FIXTURE. The North v. South Island Rugby match Tvil) be played on Juno 26, probably in Wellingon, but a strong effort is still being made to seizure the match lov CJirisfcmircli. The selectors for the South Island loam are Mr S. F. Wilson, president of the Canterbury I’ugby Anion, and another selector Irom Dunedin. They will confer in Christchurch soon, and possibly the team will he announced by tho end of the week, although the nominations must all be in hand befbro the selection can be made. The Canterbury selectors have submitted ten names for inclusion in the South island team. Naturally there will be a winnowing •out. and if Otago can oiler one or two really good players there should bo a pretty fair held of selection, and the South should produce at least a very lino forward team. C. I'/. Evans (Old Boys.) who is submitted as full-back, played a very good game at Wellington by all accounts, and ho will hare tho experience of a representative match this season in his favour. W. A. lord is a certainty for the three-quarter line. His display against lanwood on .Saturday was brilliant, and m good company he should bo a certain scorer. A. 1 humpson (Old Boys), who is put lorward as centre, has speed, but lacks wide experience. He i R a. solid customer, and ought to keep his end up it selected. The third three-quarter vacancy is left open by tho Canterbury selectors, there arc very good accounts of Storry, ot rimuru, but very little seems to be known about liim locally. Only one Cniiteibury ‘five-eighth has been named, but lie ought to get into tho team. J). MT’ormick (Marists), ii well, is a fine player, very rosourccud, and a straight runner. There are otner five-eighths, however, who might have got a hearing, and if Otago are weak in Ibis department the second man might very well come from Christchurch. Burson is worth considering, also C E. Guinoy. Both of these men aro Jig)it, hut they are clover players. W.
