ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
An inquest was held at Ashburton on Tuesday concerning ■ the death of Alexander Gordon, aged fifty-nine. The evidence showed that deceased was thrown from n trap at Rakaia when turning a corner, and injured his head. He was taken to the Ashburton Hospital, and later it was discovered that’ obstruction of the bowels had occurred. An operation was performed by l>r Walls, but Gordon died on Match 1. The verdict returned was that death was due to paralysis of the bowels.
