The gelding by IVarorley from a sister to iiibbonwood, who was purchased at a comparatively low figure at Mr W. Kerr’s cleaving sale, recently changed hands and is now owned in the North Canterbury district. The trotter Vigorous is to be put inw work again shortly. The pacer Wallace Junior, who was 1 acing at the Kaikouro, Trotting Club’s meeting this week, showed a lot of his old speed, but is still a difficult horse to manage at the post. His owner stated that he intended retiring him from racing and using him as a tray horse Tho pacer Gallantry was sold recently, bui. still rftuiainb iu A. Fleming'** stable. The pacer Harold Devon, who has been racing in Auckland, ' has been leased by his owner, K. H. Smith, to S. Groat, who has been training the horse in the northern City. The pacer Mykot has been turned out for a long spell. i The pacer Afturio has and will have to bo treated to a spell. Sasanof was not entered for any events at the Napier meeting, hut d is understood that, barring a little soreness, the Martian gelding is quite himself, and ho will be raced at the Canterbury Jockey Club’s Easter meeting, and also at he and Manawatu autumn gatherings. The victory of Gold Tie in the OanlSeld Futurity Shakes, run on Saturday last, furnishes another striking illustration of happy results attending inbreeding to the St Simon line, and iu the 1 case of Gold Tie such tokos the pronounced order. Malster, the sire of Gold Tie, was got by Bill of Portland (son of St Simon), while Dependent, , the dam of Gold Tie, is a daughter of limit Brion (son of St Simon). As a yearling Gold Tic was sold for ISOgs, so he has been a rare bargain. ACCEPTANCES. DANNEVIRKE RACING CLUB. [Per Press Association*.] DANNEVIRKE, March 3.
