Mr E. Cuthhert. who holds the positions of secretary, treasurer and engineer to the Chriitohuvoh Drainage Board, is at present suffering from ini flammatkm of the eyes. He has been unable to attend to bis duties for some time past. At the meeting of the board last evening Mr Walter Hill (chairman) said that Mr Cnthbert had lost the sight of one eye, lint ho was in no danger of losing the sight of the other. A vote of sympathy with -Mr Cutlihcrt'was carried. Mr v.. F. Champion was appointed acting-secretary and treasurer.
