CHARGE OF ABDUCTION.
— : — MOTHER (N court, A charge of abduction was preferred Annie Jano Bean before Mr S. L. M Car thy, S.M.. at the Magistrate’s Court, this uioniiu g. Tito charge was that on or about December 15 x 1919, at Chretchurcii, she did, with intent to deprive the informant, George Vincent Penn, of the lawful possession of Ilona oe_an, take her away and detain her. Fiona, Bean, who is fourteen years of age. is the daughter of accused and informant, who arc divorced persons. Accused and he- daughter went to Australia, and accused was apprehended J.IV Sydney. She arrived back in Christchurch this morning in the custody of Constable J. Smythe. At tho Court this morning accused was represented by Air M. J. Grcsson, and the informant by Mr Amodeo. On tho application of Air Amodeo accused was remanded until 10.30 a-m next day, hail being allowed in her own bond of £IOO.
