A civil sitting of the Magistrate's Court was held this morning before Mr S. E. M’Carlhv. S.M.

Judgment by default for plaintiff was granted in each of tho following cafes: —Frank Taylor- v. Malcolm Smith, claim £G 14s 2d; Canterbury Publishing Company, Ltd. v. W. J. Dailey, £1 10s; W. Strange and Co., Ltd. v. F. A. Hahn, £D 6s;, Adams, Ltd. v. Commercial Garago Company £25; H. Pannell and Co. v. Albert Spicer, £1 18s 3d; H. B. Low, Unlimited, v. J. P. Mulbilly. £1 5s 3d; A. E. Downing v. A. E. Cookson, £2 2s; Skeltoig Frostick and Co., Ltd., (trading ns Mellor and Co.) v. T. H. Undrill, 17s costs; Skelton, Fmstick and Co., Ltd. v. Hannah E. Lucas, £5 2s Gd; J. Patterson v. H. Wilson £3 os.

JUDGMENT SUMMONS CASES. In a judgment Minions case "William Madden was ordered to pay J. and A. W. Mannings (Mr E. S. Sargent) the sum of £4 Ids, in default fourteen days imprisonment.

Charles Frederick Roberts ('Mr R Sim) sued J. F. Jones on a judgment summons to recover £lO 14s DdC'After hearing the debtor’s evidence as to means no order was made, LYTTELTON. Before Messrs F. W. Anderson, J.P. and F. Knights, J.P., Charles Cole, for using obscene language, was fined £5. On a further charge of drunkenness he was convicted and discharged.
