THE "STAR” COMPETITIONS.
DECLARATION OF WINNERS
SIXTEEN-PACE PAPER ON
WEDNESDAY.
The Christmas number of the “ Star ’’ will be published on Wednesday afternoon next. It will consist of sixteen, pages, containing special seasonable features.
The winners of the competitions conducted will bo announced, and, a selection from the entries will be published. Several hundred " slogans” have been received,, and, the .150 word essay oh Canterbury has drawn many competitors.
A special title heading for the Christmas number has been drawn by Mr J. H. Gilmour, and is a very fine example of his work. It is full of humour, and will repay careful study. Mr Gilmonr has also contributed other drawings. The Christmas Number should make a strong appeal to the children.- There are stories and drawings specially for their benefit.
There will bo a very large circulation, and agents are requested to give their orders promptly.
