TIE PLUNKET SHIELD.
WILL IT CHANGE HANDS? The Plunket Shield, the “ blue ribbon ” oi cricket in New Zealand, is on view at the Otago sports depot in High Street. Wellington has challenged Canterbury for possession, and the match will be played at Hagley Park, commencing on Christmas afternpon- Canterbury will play Auckland" at Auckland over the Now Year, and if Canterbury still holds the shield the match will be a challenge one. The shield has been held as follows: 1906- Canterbury. 1907- Auckland. 1908- Auckland. 1909- Auckland. 1910- Canterbury. 1911- Auckland. 1912- Canterbury. 1913- Canterbury. , 1914- Canterbury. *l9lß-19—Canterbury. “Wellington' held the shield for a tittle less than n* month last season.
