HarleyDavidson Sport Model ESTABLISHES ANOTHER RTMRD New York to Chicago, 10!'J mile* ,> In 31 hour* 24 minute* " Hap" Scherer, mounted on the same little Sport Model on which he established the Three Flag Record for a medium weight machine (which record still stands for a motor of this sue), made the New York-Chicago run, August 26 and 27, in the remarkable time of 31 hours 24 minutes. This is 10 hours 56 minutes faster than any previous motor cycle record, and is the fastest time on record by any motor vehicle between these cities. Scherer made the entire trip without 1 mechanical trouble of any kind. When he left New York his tool'box was sealed and the seal was unbroken at the finish. There rO not even an adjustment made. New York to Chicago ui 31. hours 24 minutes on a motor of but 35,64 cu. in. piston displacement, is a record to be proud of indeed. Especially when it is considered that Scherer rocle all night through continuous rain, and it only proves again that the Sport Model is “BOSS OF THE SOLO MOUNTS/' JONES BROS. LTD. CLOCK TOWEJJ
