Details of the disaster to the Smithsonian Institute expedition show that the train was telescoped by a runaway truck. Ihe deaths are:—Dr Armstrong (not bhantz) and .Mr Stowoll. (A message on November 29 stated A railway disaster has occurred in the Jie.gian Gonpo. A train carrying the bmtthson;nn Institute party of'agricultural experts was smashed. Dr Shantz was killed, and all tho other members ot the party injured.)
