u ESTABLISHES RECORD New York to Chicago, 1013 mile* “ Hap ” Scherer, mounted on the same HttleSpoitModel on which he established the Three Flag Record for a medium weight machine (which record still stands for a motor of this size), made the New York-Chicago run, August 26 and 27, in the remarkable time of 31 hour* 24 'minutes. This is 10 hours 56 minutes faster that sny previous motor cycle record, and is the fastest time on record by any motor vehicle between these cities. Scherer made the entire trip without mechanical trouble of any kind. When he left New York his tool box was sealed and the seal was unbroken at the finish. There was not even an adjustment made. New York to Chicago tn 31 hours 24 minutes on a motor of but 35.64 cu. in. piston displacement, is a record to be proud of indeed. Especially when it is considered that Scherer rode all night through continuous rain, and it only proves again that the Sport Model is “BOSS OF THE SOLO MOUNTS.** JONES BROS. LTD, CLOCK TOWER
