South Wales is enjoying unexampled prosperity. Tramp ships are charging 60s a ton. Freight on: coal shipped to Rouen was 6s before tho war, and io now 100s. One captain made £63,000 last year out of a part share of a steamer. Goal owners are selling export. coal at 70s a ton. Steel smelters are earning, £lO weekly. A. miner's family, where tho father and throe sous work in the pits, is receiving £27 10s weekly.
