The story of how a peart necklace stolen from an American woman staying at a Paris hotel was sold for two ice creams was told in a Paris Police Court. The necklace, worth £2OOO, was taken by two page boys, who had no idea of its value. They offered it for Ss to another youngoter who was selling ice creams from a barrow. The lad had not so much money on him hut he said he would give two ices for the string of heads. The i cc cream vendor showed the necklace to his mother, who at once informed the police.
