DEATH OF NURSE ENSOR.
Tho sudden death at To Araroa, Poverty Bay, of Nurse Elizabeth (Bessie) .loan Ensor came as a shock to her many friends in Christchurch. Until recently her homo was in this city. She, was the second daughter of Archdeacon and Mrs Ensor, and a great ia, von rite witli everybody. During the influenza epidemic last year Nurse Ensor was in charge of tho hospital at Akn.roa, and did splendid service. Early this year Nurse Ensor wont to Auckland, where she was engaged in private work. On hearing of typhoid eases on the East Coast of the North Island, amongst the Alaoris, sho volunteered for service, and was engaged in nursing Alaori typhoid patients when she caught- the disease, which resulted in her death at twentysix years of age. Nurse Ensor was trained at the Christchurch Public Hospital, where she endeared herself to the staff and her fellow nurses, as well as to tho patients.
