RETURNING SOLDIERS.
lONIC AND R.EMUERA DRAFTS. The South Island troops who have arrived at Wellington by the transport lonic, will come down by the ferry steamer to-night. ' * The transport Remnera is due to arivo at Auckland on Sunday afternoon. As the train lor Wellington is due to leave Auckland at G.oO p.m. on Sunday, it is doubtful if the South Island troops will he able to connect with the train, thereby arriving in Christchurch on Tuesday morning. It is therefore considered most likely that they will not arrive until Wednesday, , ARRIVAL OF lONIC.’ ' [Pee Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October 25. The lonic arrived at 5.30 a.m. to-day and was berthed as a clean ship. ‘ Sim brought 350 officers, six nurses, 312 of .other ranks, 356- women and 90 children. Five Imperial officers wore passengers.
