' LYTTELTON CLUB, The Lyttelton Bowling Club opened its season this afternoon There was a large attendance of members and visitors from practically all .the Christchurch clubs, Eangiora a.lsd being represented. Mr E. H. Henderson, president of the club, in declaring the season open, congratulated the members on the successful year's play last season, the club having won tho Champion of Champion Einks and the Champion Doubles at the New Zealand Tournament, It was the third 1 time that the club had won tho Champion of Champion Doubles, an honour which* no other club could boast. He also thanked the ladies who- had and were, assisting to liquidate the club's debts, due to the war. As an act of appreciation the club'had decided/ to admit them as full playing members.
