The North-west Army yesterday occupied Pulkova, ten mues south of Tetrograd. General Yladimiroff, who recently escaped from Petrograd, has been appointed Governor-General in anticipation of the fall of the capital There was a heavy artillery duel yesterday between the fleet and the fortress of Erasma Jagoloa. Afterwards a great fire and explosion ■wore observed, believed to be in the Ofaniehuru. LETTS REPULSE GERMANS COPENHAGEN. October 20. In a message from Riga, the Lett Prime Minister announces that a German atttack on the Ust-Dvinsk fortress on Saturday night was repulsed. Several attacks near Friedrichstadt, 35 miles from Riga, were also repulsed. The Anglo-French fleet continues to support the Letts, inspiring the population with confidence. It is confirmed that General Mangin, who was famous in last year’s battles on the West front, has been appointed to supervise the German evacuation of the .Bailie Provinces. STATEMENT BY FATHER O’DONNELL. (Received October 23, 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, October 21. It is reported in Dublin that Father O’Donnells release is imminent. He remarked to an interviewer: “It is a strange climax to find myself in a traitor’s cell in the land of my .forefathers, considering the part I played in Australia in connection with the war, the recommendations with which I came to England and the fact that 1 frequently risked my life in battle. ”
