Owmg to the position of president of the Lyttelton AVatersido Workers’ Union being vacant through the retirement of Air E. Langley, a ballot wn-. Held on Thursday and Friday of last week amongst the workers, resulting in Mr J. C. S’nirlev being elected president, and Air J. Annan vice-president. A further ballot was taken for the purpose of electing delegates to represent the Lyttelton Union at the waterside workers’ conference, to bo held on December 2 at Napier. The members selected wore the president (Mr J. C. Shirley) and the secretary (Air j Flood).
