The action of . the Christchurch branch of the Canterbury Progress League in setting aside its claim for a canvassing campaign should bring its own reward. The decision was prompted by a knowledge of the campaigns which are being planned by the Navy League and the Commercial Travellers’ Association in the interests of their respective organisations. At their meeting last evening members of the Progress League Executive were informed that the prospects of success in connection with the Industrial Exhibition, to be opened in the Colosseum, were particularly bright, and it was decided to rely upon this for an extensive enrolment of members. It has been arranged, however, that membership cards will he made available to the public before the date of opening in order that new members may obtain ,the full privileges in connection noth the fair.
