All lovers of honey must naturally bo interested in its producer, and here are given some few iacts concerning the busy bee- In a hive there are three kinds of bees—drones, workers, and the queen bee- Drones, alas! are the mate be i BS * , n ‘ cy aro singles s, and, unlike other bees, have no pollen baskets— the fringe of stiff leg bristles on which pollen is convoyed to the' hive. The queen bee is the only fully developoo female bee in the hive- Only she, with her senes of reproductive organs, can perpetuate the bee race. • The queen bee w.h! lay from 2000 to 3000 egg< dailv ill the season. ~r. is the mother of all the other inmates in the hive and can lay eggs to produce either drones or workers—n s the fancy takes her. The queen bee heads the when they issue to swarm. This takes place when the queen cell is ca piled but should the weather be unsuitable the bees tear down the queen cell and wait. ’
