MR SSITT STIRS UP THE LABOURITES.

Discussing Mr Downie Stewart 1 s suggestion yesterday that the battle between the Reformers and the Liberals was largely fight, Mr Isitt declared in the House to-day that it might be a sham battle so far as Mr Stewart was concerned, because every time he spoke members on the Liberal side remarked, “ Why, he is more radical than half of ‘us. Why on earth does he not come over?” “What a mistake he made ” continued Mr Isrit, ‘ when ho listened to the cry from ‘Massey-Downia,’ 1 Come over and he*p us.’ (Laughter.) No more dangerous cry could be raised unless they were determined on sweeping the majority of the people into the arms of Extreme Labour. He had no single political idea in common with a number pf members on the Reform side, and if Extreme Labour succeeded in forcing the parties together with Extreme on the other side, it would be a bad thing for the country. Rather than see the country’s affairs in the hands of the Extreme Labour Party he would a dozen times prefer to leave them under the control of Mr Massey. Labour members chorussed: Of course -you would. You give the show away.
