HANDKERCHIEF SHOWER.
A very enjoyable “ handkerchief shower” was given by Mrs C. E. Bell and Mrs T- Shankland, Rangiora, in honour of Miss Walker, who is to be married shortly. Progressive euchre, which was won by Mrs J. Benjes (Christchurch), and a competition, won by Mrs A. Hughes, occupied the afternoon. A dainty afternoon tea was served, the tables being beautifully decorated with pink hyacinths and pink and white stocks. The guest of the afternoon received over sixty handkerchiefs. Those present included:—Mesdames R. Walker, H. Jones, H. Dis C. I. Jennings, J, B. Oresswell, w! Allison, D. Heney, H. Chappell, R. Foubistef, J. Stanton, R. Springer, A. Pearce, J. Thompson, G. Gibbs Jordan, 6. Leech and W. Rowse, Misses Fuller, E. Scott, C. Tutton, G. Wilson, F. Jennings, €. Ambrose. A. Shelling, I < Pearce, L. Fendall. N. Horrell and Keir (2).
