Hadfield. who won the Kingswood Sculls at the Henley Regatta in July and the single sculls at the inter-allied regatta in Paris, returned to Auckland last week, after two and a half years’ active service. Mr S- K. Sleigh, Christchurch manager of the Union Steam Ship Company. left last night for Wellington, where he will stay for a few weeks, relieving Mr W. A. Kennedy. Wellington manager. Mr M. Rudd, of headquarters staff, Thinedin, is filling Mr Sleigh’s place in Christchurch while ho is away. The Manuka was delayed in her trip from Wellington Lyttelton by southerly winds last night, and did not arrive until 12.40.
