STAFF APPOINTMENTS. [Per Pbms Association.] AVELLINGTON, September 29. It was ajiuounced last week that forty-eight candidates had been selected to undergo a three months’ qualification course at Trontham, prior to appointment to the New Zealand Staff Corps, which is now very much under the peace strength, owing to war losses and on account of age, medical unfitness, etc. It is now officially stated in this connection that the question of nominating the few officers required to complete the establishment of the Royal New Zealand Artillery, Engineers and -Army' Service Corps, the three specialist branches, was not considered by the Board of Selection, which recently assembled at General Headquarters.” This matter will be considered at a later date, when the requirements are more fully known.
