LAWN TENNIS.

In the finals at the Hendon Lawn Tennis Tourney Doust and Wood’ beat Ritchie and Dixon, 4-5, 6-1, 6-3. TEWHAKA CLUB. The annual meeting of the Tewhaka Tennis Club was held on Friday, Mr Allison presiding. Tho annual report stated that tho membership cf the club was fifty-one, an increase of nine on last year. Tho season closed with a credit balance of 130. Tho top-dressing of the courts and the purchase of new nets would substantially reduce this amount. Handicap tournaments played during the season resulted as follows; —Men’s singles,- P. E. Bean; men’s doubles, J. Hill and J. Plimmor; ladies’ singles, Misses Bean and Hutchinson to play off; Indies’ doubles. Misses Beau Hutchinson. The club was also represented at the Easter and country tournaments in Christchurch, and Miss Wales wen tho ladies’ championship singles at the Easter tournament. Votes of thanks were passed to outgoing office-bearers, the ladies for providing refreshments during the season, and to tho committee who carried out the arrangements in collection with the annual dance. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows: —President, Rev E. E. Chambers; vicepresidents, Dr 'Nowell and Rev Father Coney; secretary, Mr D. Marshall; treasurer, Captain Scott; delegate to C.L.T.A., Mr Bean; general committee, Mrs Comer, Misses'Hutchinson, and Owens, Messrs Allison and Bean; match committee. Miss Wales and Mr Bean. Eleven new members were elected. It was decided to hold handicap tournaments on tho same lines as last year, and also a junior combined tournament.

The question of opening day -was left in the hands of the committee, as the topdressing of the courts is unfinished.
