MEAT PRICES.
SHORTAGE ANTICIPATED. The shortage of stock offered for sale at the Addington market on Wednesday has resulted in increased prices being charged by most Christchurch butchers. There is, however, one practical butcher who. by anticipating the shortage, is able- to offer meat to his numerous clients at a considerable reduction on the prices charged by other butchers. High prices are not the rule at Mr T. W. Stephenson’s Cash Meat Market in Manchester Street, near Armagh Street, and housewives will he well advised to call along and inspect his tempting display of the primest meat, which is offered at the most reasonable prices in Christchurch. Mr Stephenson, has on hand 1600 sides of mutton which ho is prepared to sell to the public at the old price, viz., sides Gd per lb; forequarters 6d; legs and loins 8d; chops 8d and 9d; also lamb, beef and veal. Don’t pay high prices elsewhere, but bring the <ssh in your pockets and take your joint home with you. Also our smallgoods, pigs’ heads and trotters, can’t be beaten. Now is the economical housekeeper to prove that it is possible to live on 50s a week. Wo sell cheaper than the Government can supply to the butchers. 1
