The New Zealand footballers defeated Natal, at Durban, by eleven points to four. LEAGUE. WELLINGTON, v. CANTERBURY. The concluding fixtures for tie season include a double change that should prove attractive to players and patrons alike. The m jt °f the Wellington representative teams the Senior and 'Junior selected teams who f.re again to try ont the Canterbury representatives in each division—should ho full of interest. "When these fixtures were recently played in Wellington, tbo local second oivision representatives, playing fine spectacular football, ran out winners by a good margin, displaying football fiat gave patrons expectations of viewing bigh-class expositions of the game between the first grade teams. The recognised game between the elect of the provincial representatives was one of the best spectacular fixtures that has been played in Wellington, as, from the opening stages, the southerners delighted onlookers with their passing and speed- When opposed by the solid tackling of N. Pollock and A. Morris, the centre Wellington backs who demonstrated their abilities with the New Zealand team here, the Canterbury players were up against a solid side. The lesson gained by the New Zealand thirteen when they defeated Australia on the local ground was again manifest, and, profiting thereby, the Wellington forwards, led bv W. Scott, played fine football. With the final quarter to go the Canterbury team were up against it but by fine play on the part of F. King and W. Mitchell, the Red ■and Blacks succeeded in making up fie leeway and ran out to a draw, each side scoring S3 points. This week’s match, which will bo played afi Sydenham Park, should provide a fine game. There will be 5, continuous ear service from half-past one, and the local public will have the advantage of accommodation even better than that given for the New Zealand and Australian tost fixture.
