Speaking at the annua] meeting of the lumgiora Rifle Defence Club last evening, Captain AV. Atwell, Group CoDimandei , said that there had boon much dissatisfaction in rifle clubs owing to the shortage of rifles and rifle barrels. R would be of interest to riflemen to know that the Defence 'Department did not intend to issue anv more of the pattern of rifle that bad oeen m use in the past. In the future clubs would be equipped with the peep sight 1914 rifle, which had been used in Trantham. . The new rifles wore expected to arrive in about six. months R hen issuing them, the Department would allow riflemen a rebate on their old rifles. The use of the new rifle would be made compulsory.
