LYTTELTON.
Before Messrs F. G. Norton, J.P. and F. Knights, J.P. John Pouter, a watersidcr, was charged with stealing a quantity of coal valued at Is 6d, the property of the New Zealand Railways,. Accused, who pleaded guilty, stated that he picked up the coal in'the yard on his way home from work. , He was fined 10s, in default forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. Carl August Klingenherg, was charged with stealing, "at Akaroa. sail valued at £4 the' property of Arthur August Denis Waghom. Accused was fined £5. in default one month’s imprisonment. The sail is to be returned to the owner.
