INCREASE IN THE PRICE OP NEWSPAPERS. On and after September 1 nest the price charged for the undermentioned newspapers will be l£d per copy to regular subscribers, and 2d to casual purchasersIn making tbis announcement we desire to point out. that Canterbury is the only province in the Dominion in which the selling price of newspapers has remained unchanged throughout the War period. Wo had hoped tb be able to avoid any change of price, but the ever-increasing advance in the cost of paper, coupled with a similar advance in other materials and the steady increase in the general cost of production, have left' us no alternative.
