Replying to the Alliance of Labour's pggeßtion that a conference representing the Government, the coal miners and the coal owners should be called the 1*14016 Minister has written offering to appoint a chairman if such conference is arranged. He is apparently in doubt whether the Alliance of Labour wishes the conference to be called by the' Government or whether it can be mutually arranged now that an officially nominated chairman is available. At Rotorawo the output was 2SB tons against the usual 375 tons- A go-slow policy is very' evident at. these mines.
