Professor A. Wall and Mr R. M. Lai ns have arranged to make a botanical survey of the new reserves obtained at Kaituna. and officially received on behalf of the public a few days ago. A gang of men has been set to work on the Summit Road track from the Peninsula Hills to the Port Hills, to connect Kennedy’s Bush Teahouse with the Kaituna Teahouse. His Worship the Mayor has requested the Y.M.O.A. to establish an inquiry bureau in Cathedral Square for the purpose of assisting in entertaining and billeting the petty officers and men of H.M.S. New Zealand. Those willing to render voluntary he! o at the bureau, to act as honorary guides to places of interest, or to ' receive recommended'visitors in their homes, are requested to communicate immediately with Mr R, A, Kenner, general secretary of the Y.M.CA.
