AUGUST MEETING. The weather fine and the Addington track was in excellent ■ order to-day for the conclusion of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s August meeting. There was again a large attendance. The following are the details of the racing:— MIDWINTER HANDICAP (in saddle), of 200 sovs; second horse 40 sovs and third horse 20 sots from the stake. Sol led for over a mile and a half, when Wild Pedo took charge, and lie ’.Ton comfortably by a length. Ben Bell was forty yards away, with Patard and Mushroom next, lima—Wild Pedo, 4min 46 2-ssec; Sol, 4min 47 S-ssec; Ben Bell 4min 55 2-s?ec.

Miss Rolfe drew out at the start and led past the stand, with Birdwood, Dillon Direct and Broadalbane and Pleasant Mount handy. Birdwood broke in tbs back stretch, and at the mile post Miss Rolfe was just clear of Breadalbane and Dillon Direct. Starting' on the lasi lap Breadalbane and Miss Rolfe drew awav together, with Dillon Direct- and Pleasant Mount next. Dillon Direct challenged at the entrance to the straight, and, going on, he boat Miss Rolfe by a long neck. Breadalbane was two lengths away, a neck in front of Pleasant Mount and Legacy. Time—Dillon Direct, 3min 47sec: Mina Rolfe, Smin 47 1-tJwc; Breadalbane, 3min 47 8-sscc.

Tice Admiral drew out smartly, followed by Moneymaker, with Cello Sydney Wilkes, Trix Pointer and Erin’s Quean- next. At tho end of half a mile Vice Admiral wao two lengths clear of Moneymaker, who was four lengths in front of the next bunch, whftfn ■was headed by Erin’s Queen-, Cello Sydney Wilkes and Trix Pointer. Going down the back stretch Admiral Wood made a forward, move, and at the mile post Vico Admiral, Moneymaker, Erin’s Queen. Trix Ponler, Admiral Wood, Cello Sydney Wilkes and Sherwood were in close order. Starting on the last lap Vico Admiral and Erin's Queen were showing the way to ft bunched field. Admiral Wood improved bis position running round the turn, and on reaching the back stretch he went on in front with Erin’s Queen. A little further on Admiral Wood drew out clear, and two furlongs from home hj« was four lengths in front of Trix Pointer, who had headed the others. Once in the straight Trix Pointer put in a great run and she beat Admiral Wood by half a length. Moneymaker was two lengths away, a neck iri front of Cello Sydney Wilkes, with the others a long way bad:. Time—Trix Pointer, 4min 82 4-ssec; Admire! Charming’s b hj Nelson Bingen, by Bingen—Burette Baron, aged, Ssoc (J. Cockerel!) 1 6—Mr N. L. Price’s b hj Imperial Crown, aged, Bsec (Ownerj 3 3—Mr P. H, Hobson’s, b m.Beta Pdter. Syrs, Isec (A, G.’Wilson) 3 4 Whispering Willie acr, 7 Electrocute 6sec, 8 Whisht 6seo, and 5 Gay Wilkes Itoeo ako started. Imperial Crown took charge at the end of two furlongs, and passing Ike stand he was eight lengths in front of Gay Wilkes, with Nelson Bingen and Whisht next. Kelson Bingen took second place going down the beck, and with a lap to go ho was within two lengths of Imperial Crown. Half a mile from homo Nelson Bingen-ran to the front, and a little further on Whisht headed Imperial Crown. On reaching the straight Whisht brofco and Imperial Crown passed him. Nelson Bingen kept going and won comfortably by a little over a length. Beta Peter, after breaking soon after tho start, finished very fast, four lengths away, beating Whisht by a neck. Time—Nelson Bingen 4mm 40 4-ssec; Imperial Crown 4min 42 S-osoc; Beta Peter 4mm S6sec.
