Air and Airs E- F. J. Grigg (Eiffelton) are in town. Air and Airs, J. AV, AVoodhouse (AlethSrenbare in- town,- staying at AVarner’s. Mrs AI. Bothell (Rabau Pastures) has cohie into town for the week. Aliss Alargevy Thomas (Auckland) is spending a holiday in Christchurch. Air and Airs B. L. Blunden iWaikari) are in town. Air and Airs Wyn Davison (Gulverden) are spending the week in town. Alias Eileen Alurphy (Timaru) has come to Christchurch for the races. Mr and Airs C- Neville and Miss Buck] (Timaru) are in Christchurch. Miss Rita Aloss (Karori, Wellington) is in Christchurch for the racing and other festivities. Air and Airs J. AV. Brodie (AAVUington) arrived in Christchurch this morning for the races. Air and Airs H. G, Alartin (Culverden) are amongst the guests at AVarner’g. Lady Ward paid a visit to the Colos-seum-last. evening, where the Victory Fair was in progress, and was presented with a beautiful bouquet of violets by the committee. Nurse Agnes Currie, trained ni St Helens Hospital, Christchurch, has taken over “The Elms” Ala,iernjty Hospital, Rangiora, lately occupied by Airs Tenths. The building has been renovated and is now one of the most up-to-date hospitals. The Swannanoa Social Club held a pmfftssftve euchre party and dance in the Swannanoa Hall on Friday eveningnit • a ar S 6 gathering assembled from ad the surrounding districts. The winners of the first prizes of the euchro were Aliss Ruby Ai’lutosb and Air C Henderson, and of. the boobv prizes Miss AAittleo and Air Haseltine. A dainty supper was Served, after which dancing was' indulged in. The music was . supplied by Airs H. Winter, Aliss Taylor and Alisa AVmter (piano). Air AV. E. Ivnighi (comet). Air Henderson (violin) and Air Haseltine (piano). Songs weremontributed by Mr R. Grant ami Air C. Henderson. Air George AVinter was M.G.
