Joseph Delaney, who was not repre. seuted by counsel, was charged with the theft of two cushions and a lady’4 coat, valued at £7 10s, the property of Annie Harvey. hen asked how he would plead, accused replied: * f Oh, I was bo drunk yesterday that I did not know what 1 did.” Senior-Sergeant Cummings, who appeared for the police, stated that the articles had been stolen yesterday from the Wellington Hotel and had not yet all been recovered. He applied for a remand. The Magistrate decided to adjourn the case until Wednesday, August 20. Bail was fixed at £2O.
