ROYAL COMMISSION SOUGHT. RETURNED SOLDIERS AND Y.M.C.A. [Pee Pebss Association.] WELLINGTON, August 12. With respect to the demand by the Returned Soldiers’ Association for a Royal Commission to inquire into tho whole question of patriotic war funds it appears from correspondence which has been published that the Y.M.C.A. is the body to whose accounts tho Minister’s attention was drawn by the association. The Y.M.C.A. says that it courts the fullest inquiry. Owing to the ramifications of its work in various countries the task of preparing a balance-sheet was necessarily a lengthy one, but the Government auditors have now completed the work and the figures will shortly he available. . The R.S.A. is still urging the Minister to comply with its request.
