Aliss Alillicenh Jeunings was in Wales, England, when she last wrote to friends in Christchurch. She and her mother had an interesting trip across America, staying for several days in New York, and then going across Canada- On the Atlantic crossing Aliss Jennings sang at a concert given for seamen 1 s widows and orphans, and one of her audience was a well known concert manager. After hearing her he asked Alias Jennings if shO would sing on a circuit tour Of the United Slates. , Next day Aliss Jennings sang to two directors of the company, who were also on board, and they wanted her to sign a contract immediately, but Miss Jennings was not sure of her plans, so postponed her decision. Aliss Jennings in a letter to a friend said Now that I have a chance to . have the life of a professional singer, strangely enough I am longing for the outdoor life and hfr open spaces Of New Zealand.” Airs Jennings is with her daughter.
