A Marton Press Association telegram notifies the death of Mr Nicholas Andrew, editor of the “Rangitikei Advocate,” on Saturday evening, from heart failure. Mr W. E. Leadley, secretary of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, estimates that about 350 returned soldiers inarched in the Peace celebration procession yesterday. This is in addition to those who were in cars. _On September 30, weather permitting, an effort will he made by a 'water diviner to locate water at Victoria Park. The Mayor has announced his intention *>f attending the series ot tests carried put by the diviner. If the weather should prove unfavourable the tests will be made during the following week. Speaking with reference to the Peace celebrations, the Mayor stated to-day that ho was sending a special letter to the managerial and running staffs cfc the Christchurch tramways, congratulating and thanking them for the admirable manner in which they handled the large crowds ‘during the celebrations. The fact that there was a complete absence of confusion and no accident occurred in the city was worthy of some such special recognition,. said the Mayor. 1 .
