Sir, —During the recent prohibition' campaign _ "The Trade" Bought to make capital out of an alleged statement by the eminent London surgeon, Sir James Cantle, on the value of alcoholic liquor as a cure for influenza. Will you ldncllv find space in your esteemed journal for tfie signed statement of the doctor, as follows: " Spirits are no preventative to mfluenza,_ but a useful stimulant in the exhaustion which accompanies, or follows influenza. Spirit, in my opinion, is a drug to be obtained only from n chemist by a d'ootor's prescription when everything else fails: 1 was wrongly reported."
