WAR MEMENTOES.
VALUABLE COLLECTION IN MUSEUM. Sergeant A. Hunter, of Church Bay, Lyttelton has placed on loan in Canterbuiy Museum, the most extensive and valuable collection of war mementoes of places where New Zealanders fought that the institution has received. It is set but in cases in the war section. Sergeant Hunter went through many engagements, and saw a great deai of France and Belgium. He collected as he went along. He did this systematically and carefully, making records. The result is that he has not only a list of the ninety-five articles hi the collection, but also the actual place where each was collected and til© dat© of collection. Conspicuous in the collection is part of a, large Imperial German flag, taken team, the Hohenzollern Bridge* at Eclogue. It hears an immense black ckoss Mid part of the German eagle also worked in black. Amongst the other articles' are German revolvers, French and) German watches, shell fragments, cartridges, pieces of wood and! stone from the famous . Cloth Hall at Ypres. pieces of altars from ruined cathedrals, field-glasses, maps and orders.
