MINISTER' AND PROGRESS LEAGUE.
-Mr ,P. R. Glume, -• organiser of the Cunterbvu’y Progress. League, yesterday received the following telegram 'from the Acting-Minister of Posts and.Telegraphs (the Hbn.W. D. S. Mac Donald) with reference,to the mail service inaugurated by / the league.:— l •• l lf ‘there lias been any misunderstanding as tp. the position taken up, by your league, the Post Office cannot well be held responsible therefor, ’as the public notifications in relation’to the league’s action, together. with the telegram received from Mr Hoare (secretary of the league) on Saturday warranted the conclusions arrived'at. I am glad to _ learn, however, that your league disavows any desire to usurp the functions or the Post Office. I am quite prepared to meet,any reasonable,claims xendered in connection.with the.seivices inaugurated,- arid hope that the arrangements ■ made will result in a full measure 9.■ sfttisiaction to'all concerned.” „ The telegram was. read ,af yesterday,’s meeting of the ■ Progress League; the reference .to the Government being prepared tp meet ail reasonable claims in connection with, the services, beintr, received with applause. .
