The EUesmera, Maltern and Peninsula sub-unions wrote accepting the offer of games against the Canterbury junior representative teams cn July I'2. The secretory of the.' A letter was received from tho Linwood, Club explaining the reason why the club’s third pads team had defsuited to North Canterbury, and asking for a remission, of the fine imposed. It wea agreed to remit the fine and to ask the club to notify opponents on the Thursday preceding a match if the engagement could ’ not ’be fulfilled; A letter was received from the Csnkrburv College' Club stating that owing to the inability of the Victoria College (Wellington) team to travel ou the date* originally agreed upon, the match had been postponed till later in the soaeon. Mr D. B. Partoo, referee in the Christenuroh—Liuwood senior m&tcli on .Saturday last, wrote stating that when ho aeked tho luuwood captain ior the name of a member w bis team he’ had given a wrong name. He also had t to remove a lino umpire for ‘‘barracking" and had warned spectators for disputing his decisions and for using bad language. It was decided to hold an inquiry into the charge made by the referee Against the Innwood captain, and to ask these two persons and (he line umpire (o be present at the next meeting.
