The EUesmera, Maltern and Peninsula sub-unions wrote accepting the offer of games against the Canterbury junior representative teams cn July I'2. The secretory of the.' Bailor Rugby Union vurota inviting a visit from a Canterbury representative team to play matches on the West Const. It was decided to reply that tho visit would be considered later on, when the interprovinckl programme was being drawn up, and to ask what financial assistance could be given. In reply to an invitation from the Hawke’s Bay Union for a visit Irom. a Canterbury team, the .secretary' was instructed to write that -the union regretted, that it. wee not undertaking a northern tour this year, and therefore could not accede to the request. Nominations for the position of Junior Selection* Committee were received from each of the clubs, and a ballot resulted in the election of Messrs P. Hamy,. 0. Evans and C. J, Goldstone. The custodian oi the Tepid Baths wrote offering to allow twenty members of any club lo use the baths from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturdays from July t to the end of tho season for a subscription of £l. On the suggestion of the. chairman it wae decided to bring the matter under the notice of the club. A letter was received from tho Linwood, Club explaining the reason why the club’s third pads team had defsuited to North Canterbury, and asking for a remission, of the fine imposed. It wea agreed to remit the fine and to ask the club to notify opponents on the Thursday preceding a match if the engagement could ’ not ’be fulfilled; A letter was received from the Csnkrburv College' Club stating that owing to the inability of the Victoria College (Wellington) team to travel ou the date* originally agreed upon, the match had been postponed till later in the soaeon. Mr D. B. Partoo, referee in the Christenuroh—Liuwood senior m&tcli on .Saturday last, wrote stating that when ho aeked tho luuwood captain ior the name of a member w bis team he’ had given a wrong name. He also had t to remove a lino umpire for ‘‘barracking" and had warned spectators for disputing his decisions and for using bad language. It was decided to hold an inquiry into the charge made by the referee Against the Innwood captain, and to ask these two persons and (he line umpire (o be present at the next meeting.
