PERSONAL NOTES FROM LONDON.

(By Our Lady Correspondent,)) • v April' 4, 1919. Sir Joseph Ward arrived in London from Paris on Tuesday, and had a somewhat trying experience in crossing. An attache case bearing his name was broken open and the contents thoroughly examined. Envelopes wore opened, but official papers had been left in the case. A gold-mounted pen belonging to Miss Alioo Saunders, Sir Joseph’s lady secretary, was the only article ot value taken. Sir Joseph and his secretary were on the shin, but it was not until the vessel had nearly reached Folkestone, that they learned'of the incident. The case had been taken from the main deck while the ship was at Boulogne. ■
