After steadily decreasing to low limits tlio influenza during the past few days has shown an increasing tendency- Yesterday in the metropolitan area there wcn> five now cases, and the. total now is 72. in South Australia a number ■ of country districts have become infected, while in Adelaide, though a i considerable number of now cases nave 1 boon recorded, few- deaths arc reported. ; Jn Queensland the deaths so far number about ninety. The disease maintains n strong hold in Brisbane, many new cases being reported. The public services and business generally aro suffering materially, and the Royal Agri- , cultural Show has been abandoned. In ' Victoria the epidemic maintains about the average of recent weeks.
